The CSU East Bay MESA College Prep Program supports students to develop their confidence, competence, and love of STEM by building a community that fosters curiosity and exploration.Led by the Institute for STEM Education, the Program assists California K-12 students from local middle and high schools, who have been historically excluded in STEM fields, to excel in math and science and go on to college in math-based majors. Code for fun is a non­profit organization committed to introducing students to computer science at an early age. Code for fun offers virtual after school programs, summer camps, and in-person instruction programs. I am the Program Director of the virtual Hack High School program, in which students work in teams, under the guidance of a mentor, to learn and apply programming skills in order to build a portfolio project over the course of the semester. The Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research & development (R&D) institution that provides opportunities for high school students throughout the Bay Area to conduct high-level novel scientific research. At ASDRP I:- Worked with a team of four fellow researchers under the guidance of a mentor to investigate the application of sentiment analysis models in moderating public forums and chats- Explored the foundations of intricate NLP language models such as Meta's roBERTa and Google's ALBERT- Integrated NLP models with Python's PyTorch and SciPy libraries to develop a program that conducts sentiment analysis upon user input text.
