I was responsible for the architecture of complex service oriented solutions integrating with third party applications to address business functionality. This included providing architectural guidance on solutions, mentoring developers and enforcing best practices. Technologies used included ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, MongoDB, SQL Server, OData, WCF, MSMQ, KnockoutJS, AngularJS, jQuery, CSS, HTML, SignalR

I worked primarily on the Fin24 website and had the opportunity on working on a Silverlight 4 real time application. The website utilises a MVP-C pattern using Spring.Net as the IOC, WCF, web services on the server side and Ajax, JQuery, HTML, CSS on the client. The Fin24 site also uses SOLR for searching, Google API news search and Twitter Search API. I was primarily responsible for the technical details of the integration of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and third party payments systems such as PayU.

I worked with the StatPro performance and attribution (SPA) / Statpro fixed income (SFI) team. The SPA/SFI software was originally written in Visual Basic 6, the team and I had to maintain the legacy code and transfer the legacy code to C# using .Net framework 3.5, Microsoft SQL server 2008 and NHibernate. The product that was being developed employs the use of MVC design pattern together with WCF and Web Services.

I joined the search.24.com team to develop and maintain the site using .NET, MSSQL 2005/2008. I also participated in the implementation of the FAST search enterprise server using Python. Search provided me the opportunity to immerse myself in the .Net framework and also broaden my development skills

As a contractor, I was placed into Boxer Superstores where I was required to learn the MAGIC 4GL programming language with an Oracle database. I was also involved in the development of web-based applications using XHTML, ASP, JavaScript and Cascading style sheets. The applications that I wrote involved the use of databases, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and MS Access. I joined Boxer superstores as a permanent employee in July 2007. Boxer provided me with training in MCAD, as well as other shorter courses. I was promoted as a senior developer at Boxer Superstores, and had the added responsibility of delegating new tasks to junior developers.
