But when I first decided to dive into entrepreneurship back in 2006, there were very few first-generation entrepreneurs in India, let alone female entrepreneurs. Since then, I have built 3 successful ventures from scratch, driven by my desire to become an independent, self-made woman. Spotting opportunities and making the most of them has always come to me naturally. For example, two of my ventures – DigiSparsh and Cure8 – capitalize on the internet boom to help businesses and brands thrive online in the age of laptops and smartphones.Whether it is online marketing, design and development, branding, or PR, my team and I have proven our mettle in all things digital. Since the Middle East is a lucrative market for Indian businesses, we have helped many fellow entrepreneurs secure a foothold over there.With a career spanning nearly two decades, my work has taken me across borders from India to Hong Kong, Thailand, and the UAE. But no matter where I worked, what project I worked on, or who I worked with, the fundamentals of doing business have always remained the same. These are–Perseverance, Foresight, and Co-creation.In other words, there is simply no substitute for having one’s skin in the game, and that is exactly what my journey has been all about. One of my favourite quotes is an African proverb, which goes something like this: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Growing up, I overcame a plethora of socio-economic challenges to reach where I am today, and hence, I know first-hand that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference.At present, my social initiatives include volunteering in Old Age Homes, supporting Cancer patients in their journey, standing up for Transgender rights, and nurturing young minds in Orphanages.
