Primary role as researcher investigating chemical-mediated interactions between phorid flies and invasive red imported fire antsUtilized knowledge of FIFRA regulations to guide investigations on biological control agents for use against red imported fire ants.Developed bioassay chamber of flies to study their behavior and used gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify compounds from fire ants that attract parasitic phorid flies with the purpose of investigating biocontrol options (was covered by Science News-2009, US News- 2009, Auburn Magazine (Spring edition- 2010).

I did my graduate studies on "The effect of parapheromones on the oviposition activity in mosquito vectors".Established a novel approach to control mosquito vectors by formulating an effervescent tablet in combination with insecticides as a trap to attract a Aedes aegypti and Anopheles stephensi mosquitoes (carriers of dreadly diseases: dengue, DHF, yellow fever and malaria) (in the process of patent)Also developed a formulation with effective oviposition repellent, which repels 3 species of mosquitoes. Additionally discovered the mechanism how Aedes aegypti detects the existence of their species-specific oviposition attractant, n-heneicosane (awarded as a best Paper in Entomology with a gold medal in 2008). Designed and performed host-seeking behavior, oviposition behavior, olfactometer bioassays, mosquito neurophysiology, and scanning electron microscopyServed as Representative of DRDO Research Scholar Hostel team.
