Kavita Arvind specialises in Art & Design Education, Illustration & Visual Storytelling.She is a published illustrator and design educator and has worked with Penguin, Juggernaut Books, Little Latitude, Unnati, Mahila Samakhya and Timbuktoo Publishers. She has illustrated more than 15 books from workbooks, baby board books, anthologies to private commissions.
She studied film at the National Institute of Design, and has a Masters in Design in Education from Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology. Kavita has been a design educator for 24 years and has taught at the best design schools in the country, keenly understanding how creativity and learning works.Under the banner of Chidiya Udd, she has been teaching illustration online for the past 4 years to folks across age groups and geographies. With her carefully designed courses, skill and expertise, gentle guidance, she helps people from all walks of life find their own creative, unique voice and a path back to their authentic, expressive self, by offering beautifully designed courses, live sessions, master classes and a vibrant community of peers to help inspire creative confidence.She has worked with a range of issues from healthcare technology, education, gender equity, to caste and inclusion. As a design educator, she has taught for more than a decade at both her alma maters, leading projects in collaboration with Katha, Tulika, WTI on areas that range from social inclusion, disability, mythology and gender activism. She continues to teach as visiting faculty at Srishti Manipal, NID, Ahmedabad & Chitkara University.
