Kavita Vij is the Engagement Lead at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water. Before CEEW, she worked as a Manager for Grants and Partnerships at Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), a global non-profit research and advisory institution, working on sustainable finance and financing energy transition. In this role, Kavita worked on building partnerships, managing relationships with government, donors, industry, and academic institutions, overseeing program management and supervision of grant reporting to funders, supporting core/institutional fundraising, monitoring and evaluation of results, and impact assessment for major CPI programs in India. She was also responsible for mainstreaming CPI’s work and finding representation platforms within industry associations, non-profit institutions, research organisations, academia, and the Government of India.Kavita's journey of over 19 years with global and Indian companies in energy, infrastructure and finance,non-profits, and academic institutions has led her to work for Prosus, Indian School of Business (ISB),and Infrastructure Development and Finance Company (IDFC) and Infrastructure Leasing & FinancialServices (IL&FS). Among other responsibilities, she developed and delivered public policyprograms in partnership with the government and engaged with business leaders, policymakers, andmembers of the academia.Certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt professional, Kavita holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts from Delhi University and a postgraduate degree in Management from Symbiosis University. Currently, Currently, she is pursuing a General Management Program specialising in Leadership and Strategy from the Indian School of Business.
