With over 35 years of work experience in the arts sector, I am a passionate and visionary artistic director and art educator . I lead two innovative and impactful initiatives: Diverse Abilities Dance Collective (DADC) and Maya Dance Theatre. Through these platforms, I aim to create inclusive and diverse dance spaces that empower, inspire, and transform individuals and communities. I believe in the power of art and education to foster social change, awareness, and empathy. We focus on disability led leadership in DADC. As the artistic director of DADC, I work with diversely abled individuals and professional arts practitioners to co-create and perform dance works that express their stories, perspectives, and emotions. I also run the Elevate Training Programme, which offers creative movement training to diversely abled individuals, and provides them with opportunities to co-train with experienced dance and movement trainers and the pioneers of the programme. As the artistic director of Maya Dance Theatre, I create compelling and socially engaged dance theatre works that shed light on social issues such as mental health, domestic violence, and ageing. I have presented my works both locally and internationally, received recognition and awards for my contributions to the arts and society.
