Kawser Mahmud is a highly experienced media and communication consultant with a long and successful career in journalism. He worked with some of the renowned media organizations in Bangladesh and abroad. He was also awarded the prestigious Knight International Fellowship from ICFJ,USA in 2009. Under the fellowship he trained 60 woman journalists and launched an Independent Television News Agency (TVNA) - the first ever in Bangladesh.He started his journalism career with print media and turned to television with Ekushey Television (ETV) as a news and current affairs program producer and anchor. Later, he headed production sections, along with anchoring, of ATN Bangla and RTV. He also headed the program section of CSB News – the country’s first-ever 24-hour news channel.Today, Mahmud is working as a freelance documentary filmmaker and trainer. He has directed a 71 mints documentary on Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra – the undercover Voice Warriors during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. He has also directed and produced several corporate films and documentaries for organizations like Discovery Channel, UNDP, Action Aid, Save the Children – USA, Novartis (Bangladesh) Ltd, Roche Bangladesh Ltd, Western Union and British Council.A graduate of Dhaka University, the leading academic institute of Bangaldesh, Mahmud has participated in a number of international programs. Mahmud participated in a fellowship program titled ‘Facts & Format: Creative Ways to Inform People’ with RNTC in the Netherlands. He also attended a two-week training for the trainers program on television production at the Gaylord College of Journalism & Mass Communication, University of Oklahoma, in June 2008. He has also attended a television production and reporting course conducted by the British Broadcasting Corp before joining Ekushey Television.Kawser Mahmud also founder of MEDIA COACH-a hands- on Media training Hub.
