I was initially employed as Events Coordinator, and with refocussing of the organisation I moved into Business Development and International Coordinator and Business Development Manager roles within the Business Development team. The main focus of the role has been developing opportunities to increase revenue through identifying international and domestic options that align with Taratahi’s strategic goals.Key Areas of Activity:• Investigating and developing strategic business opportunities and strategic partnerships • Investigating strategic opportunities based on data, research, evidence and alignment with Taratahi’s overall strategy• Developing strategic plans and briefing papers for the CE, Executive team and Board• Participating on a number of cross-organisational projects related to the development and implementation of new systems and processes. Approximately five major projects in the last 18 months.• Providing leadership and guidance within the Business Development team development and implementation of systems.• Guiding, mentoring and supporting team members to develop and document work systems and processes, and then rolling out to the National and Regional offices.• Increasing revenue coming into the organisation both nationally and internationally by developing commercial/revenue generating opportunities with government departments, large corporate farming organisations, Maori businesses, Iwi, and international partners and recruitment agents• Ensuring a national approach to Business Development opportunities, systems, processes, strategic/important events, scholarships and sponsorships by taking a strategic approach to maximise opportunities and maintain consistency across the regions
