About Kay Mccracken

My latest book A Spooktacular Halloween was published Oct. 15th, 2012. I am reading the book to hundreds of children at the RJ Haney Heritage Village Spooktacular in Salmon Arm Saturday, Oct. 27 & Sunday, Oct. 28th. I'll be dressed as Mrs. Orangebottom, one of the characters in the book. See SA Observer article (Wed., Oct. 17) for a glimpse of her, or see facebook.com/A Spooktacular Halloween, or http://www.playfortpublishing.ca/halloween.html to order on line.I'm most happy when I'm creating. That can be a book, article, poem, or my monthly column. I also enjoy the creativity of marketing, promotion, and book reping for Gracesprings Collective. When I take something on, I don't give up; that can take the form of taking a book from its inception to publication, or getting a Writers' Festival off the ground. In 2003, I co-founded Word on the Lake, the Shuswap Readers and Writers Festival and worked on the publicity committee for years thereafter.
