As a little girl I would stand in front of the mirror for hours practicing for my future interview with Oprah. Whether I was pretending to be a teacher, a preacher like my dad (shout out to us pastor’s kids), curating imaginary events, leading a movement with my little fist in the air, or being the host of my own tv show, everyday my bedroom became a new stage, and my multitude of teddy bears my loyal audience. I didn’t know what my career would be as an adult, but I knew I was a little girl with a big dream.I may not have met Oprah (yet), but my gifts and talents definitely paved professional paths to fulfill every dream career I pretended to have as a child. - Organizer/Movement Leader: As the community organizer for WCRP for the past 3 years, I've fought for social justice causes focused on permanent deep affordable housing for low income women and their families. I've coordinated protest/actions with PCAC and won progressive legislation around community land trust. I've facilitated community meetings focused on building people power and training on effective canvasing, public speaking, and voter education.- Teacher/Trainer/ Facilitator: As an English teacher within the Philadelphia school district and Philadelphia’s Opportunities network for 6 years I touched the lives of thousands of at risk students. I created and facilitated trainings for teachers focused on navigating urban school settings. As the program coordinator for Urban Affairs Coalition Summer youth program I facilitated professional development workshops for over 1200 each summer and coordinated the end of the year celebration featured on 6 abc news.- Preacher/ Ministry Leader: With over 20 years in ministry leadership experience I've become a viral content creator.
