During the last years I have had the opportunity to gain great knowledge about molecular biology. I did my master thesis in the group of Prof. Thomas Boller in Basel. There my research focused on microbe and damage associated molecular patterns.After the two years at the botanical institute in Basel I decided to join the group of Dr. Etienne Bucher in Angers. Here, my focus of research is the influence of defense-inducing priming compounds on (epi)genetic plant memory. My PhD study helped me to boost my knowledge and understanding of epigenetics and its capacity to regulate (plant) immunity, development and ability to cope with microbe associated stresses. Moreover, I have had the chance to learn important biotechnologies including the CRISPR-Cas9 approach and different sequencing technologies.After my Postdoc at the Department for molecular Plant biology in Lausanne in the group of Christiane Nawrath, I decided to change fields. I started the journey outside of accademia at the Witec AG. Here I have the role as Area Sales Manager Basel.
