I am a recent graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in mechanical engineering. Throughout my time at Cal Poly I have been involved in several clubs on campus including Engineering Without Borders (EWB), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and the Cal Poly Rose Float Program. Most recently, I acted as the Treasurer of Cal Poly Hyperloop. I also work as a shop technician at the two student run machine shops in Cal Poly's mechanical engineering department. As a shop tech I helped students by checking out tools, giving project and machine use advice, and ensuring that everyone remained safe. As the previous Scheduling Supervisor, I also kept the shops running smoothly by making sure that student techs were scheduled appropriately. This position also required that I complete projects to develop my machining knowledge and skills. Additionally, I worked as a teaching assistant in the Materials Removal class, helping students who were learning to use lathes and CNC mills for the first time and providing metrology guidance with the use of optical comparators, calipers, and micrometers.
