Performs varied clerical tasks such as data entry, proofreading, electronic filing, typing, filing; answers incoming calls on multi-line telephone system and directs calls to appropriate person and/or department.Receives and transmits emergent and non-emergent messages, information and complaints, and dispatches officers using police radio. Composes and types department correspondence utilizing computer programs, software, and equipment; accurately and efficiently enters and updates data into various computer databases and programs; retrieves and compiles information for a variety of reference and statistical reporting purposes. Processes department payroll by verifying timesheets/scheduling/payroll software and ensuring compliance with grant authority reimbursement reporting regulations when applicable. Assesses case files for accuracy and ensure investigative records are complete and accounted for. Receives and forwards Freedom of Information Act requests and facilitates releases of public information pursuant to supervisory, legal, and/or procedural guidance. Processes payments for release of vehicle impounds, public fingerprints, parking violations, and various incoming payments; distributes/mails necessary reports/receipts and filing records; processes reports of payment via Incode program. Performs confidential duties for Department in a sensitive manner. Monitors, documents and maintains confidential records for compliance with yearly record audit; maintains records, files and reports. Coordinates office services, purchasing and procurement, and maintenance of office equipment. Prepares invoices and claims for City Council approval using appropriate department account numbers. Interacts with other law enforcement agencies and private and public organizations regarding department related activities. Performs Matron duties as needed in the handling and processing of female detainees.
