As an audit intern, I evaluated and tested compliance with internal controls and I examined bank statements and reconciliations to look for inconsistencies. I also prepared financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). On the tax side, I completed S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, Multi-State, and Individual tax returns. In doing so, I maintained current knowledge of tax laws and regulations.I communicated with both audit and tax clients and adapted to varying workloads and tight deadlines effectively.

I assisted with the federal income tax compliance process and the quarterly income tax provision process. I also reported tax notices and uploaded them into the company’s databases, and completed special projects involving asset depreciation, sales and use tax, and various other day to day assignments. I had the opportunity to write a blog post for “Achieving Our Greatness: The Intern Story” which highlighted the importance of networking and completed Percipio courses in Public Speaking and ChatGPT.
