I have worked in two retail stores as a sale associate and found a love to provide not only my opinions in a good fashion sense but to give the best customer service in order to meet the customers needs. I had repeating customers and consistent, positive feedback from others that was recommended to me. Working with Journeys Kidz and Levis, were both very similar but different experiences due to the difference in product that was being sold. At Journeys Kidz, I got to see the importance of the sizes of shoes, the width, comfortability, and durability of the product. My time at Levis, I was able to experience customers being more concerned about how and where the denim jeans fit. Most customers looked for the length, waist size, if the jeans were buttoned up or had a zipper, and overall just comfortable enough to be in all day. On the other side of my experience through customers, I got to understand the material of any product I sold. For shoes, certain materials like crocs can shrink or melt if it is in the sun for too long. For denim jeans, if it has no mix and is 100% hard denim, we recommend to wash cold and hang to dry to prevent from shrinking and preserve the shade of denim in the future. I learned a lot within retail and I found a love for fashion. I have always believed that fashion is a way to express who you are as a person and being able to help people express themselves is my favorite part.
