My internship opportunity at the Baruch Marine Field Lab in Georgetown, SC, has granted me valuable experiences in all aspects of "STEM". While I have worked primarily under Dr. Bill Strosnider in his Ecological Engineering Lab, I have also participated in interdisciplinary fieldwork with Bruce Pfirrmann and Matt Kimball. The experiences I gained by working at the Baruch Marine Field Lab included collecting and identifying field samples, learning how to properly use scientific lab equipment, building the instruments needed for an experiment, and calculating necessary parameters for varied purposes. At the Baruch Marine Field Lab, I have found myself immersed in the world of marine science by continuously learning about the multifaceted structure of estuaries.

During my time working as an Office Assistant in the Office of Government and Community Relations, I gained valuable skills in research, organization, and communication. My role included opportunities to meet South Carolina Government Officials, research the campaigns of potential local government candidates, and create a varied database of public information that can be useful to understanding the goals and demographics of political candidates.
