I am currently in my fourth year at UW-Madison where I am pursuing a B.S. in Life Science Communication and Environmental Studies (Human Health Emphasis) with certificates in digital studies, global health and health policy, and I will graduate in the Spring of 2025. I am specifically studying healthcare administration.I had the opportunity to intern in the lab at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. I have learned many skills in communication through my time working here. My time in the lab has taught me how to work in a professional and fast-paced environment, and how to perform well under pressure.Currently, I work as a health unit coordinator at Unity Point- Meriter, in Madison WI. While working here, I have had the opportunity to expand my communication skills by connecting with patients, providers and nurses. I also currently work through the School of Medicine and Public Health at my university in the Rheumatology as a health administration intern. Through this experience I am able to gain hands on experience in working with data input, scheduling, and working with both patients and providers to ensure a smooth operation of the department. These positions both gave me the chance to fine tune my organizations skills and my critical thinking skills, and I hope to continue to develop my skillset through future positions.
