I plan and implement advocacy projects for our members. For example, I assisted with planning and moderating a town hall for students to express their concerns about the program with faculty. Additionally, I curate resources for our members to utilize as they engage in their own social justice work.

As a Graduate Student Assistant in the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs, I support the Staff Development Center by leading the planning and development of content for our training and discussion-based programs. These tasks include creating curriculum, gathering materials, assisting with the coordination of event logistics, helping with.

I engaged in peer-to-peer consultations with a cohort of 15 underrepresented students. During this, I assess student needs and navigate them toward the proper campus resources to help them succeed in areas, such as professional development, mental health, campus belonging, academic success, and more. Additionally, I helped plan events that were tailored to.

I formulated specific action plans for 2 clients to help enhance their self-esteem and manage their stress Student's progress was monitored in weekly 1 hour meetings until they reached their goals. I was trained to be a coach under the supervision of a staff psychologist in the UCI Counseling Center. Additionally, I reviewed applications and interviewed.

I conceptualized a qualitative study, and collected data by interviewing eight participants. Responses were coded and analyzed to find common themes. Findings were presented at the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Symposium (UROP), which won the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research.

I assisted in an IRB-approved qualitative study. In this lab, I was responsible for recruiting participants, conducting 60 to 80-minute interviews, transcribing data, and completing a literature review. This project was presented at a research symposium at the end of the year.

I assisted with the coordination and ongoing development of the Diversity, Inclusion and Racial Healing Program that provides educational seminars and mentorship to over 50 local high school students in Orange County. Throughout this experience, I've learned to uphold professionalism by communicating with diverse groups, such as students and faculty.

I provide one-on-one consultations to students in the School of Social Sciences on topics such as, editing resumes and CV's, finding internships, research and campus involvement opportunities as well as assisting in graduate school preparation. Also, I plan and host events on these topics that students can attend virtually or in-person.
