Each day, I attempt to LISTEN and hear what people are saying. I meet people who come from different cultural backgrounds and it is important to genuinely understand them and where they come from. Building upon this skill, as a practitioner, helps improve my ability to effectively communicate and thus, improve patient outcomes. Just be kind. It goes a long way. Advocating for my patients and providing patient-centered care, guiding them to live a healthier lifestyle to help prevent illness and disease as well as, decrease the risk for complications associated with disease, is my goal as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
