Hello, my name is Kayla Bozeman. I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor's in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience with dual minors in Biology and Psychology. During my time as an undergraduate, I obtained leadership, research and healthcare experience as a student researcher, vice president, resident assistant and pharmacy technician. At Loyola, I was vice president of the Minority Association of Pre-health student organization which aided underrepresented students on their path to healthcare by hosting informative and community service events. I also served as a CURA scholar and participated in a bioinformatics research lab to observe genetic and transcriptomic contributions of sleep and nutrition phenotypes in various populations. I currently hold a position as a medical assistant in a dermatology practice that specializes in skin of color. In this role, I assist dermatologists in patient examinations, procedures and cosmetic treatments. In addition, to educating patients on prescribed medications, skincare regimens and post-treatment care. I am an aspiring physician assistant with various interests including, but not limited to, Dermatology and Neurology looking to gain additional volunteer, healthcare and shadowing experience.
