I used to want to work in the film industry. I did it for a while, and I loved it a lot. I would wake up at 4 am most days and wouldn't get home until late at night. I would do that every day for the next few months until that project ended and a new one came along. However, I missed being able to tell stories myself. I missed being creative, collaborating with a team of people, and having a normal social life. That's what led me to marketing. Ultimately, marketing is telling stories. Whether it's about the company or the customer, there is always a story that needs to be told. And telling those stories can be done through multiple channels. Social media, emails, blogs, you name it. I found myself enjoying understanding the target audience, and how to appeal to them through writing and imagery. At the core, I'm just a storyteller. I enjoy writing my own short stories, poems, and screenplays, but I've found the perfect balance with marketing. Those 4 am call times seem so distant. It feels like that was part of another life, another timeline.
