My grandmother always told me that to keep your mind young; you just learn new skills constantly. I live to learn. No matter if it is work, another degree, or an Udemy course, I am going to strive to learn all I can from that experience. I currently work for BAE Systems in Talent Acquisition. The most rewarding part of my job is completing a large puzzle of finding the right candidate to round out a team. I love to mentor teenagers who have made some mistakes and need a little light, and talk to people about the underemployment of military spouses. I think our duty in life is to give back to and honor things that helped us get to where we are. Sometimes that means, I call a new grad applying to their first “adult” job to give them resume tips, and sometimes that means giving up my Friday night to greet USO guests with a warm smile and a hot meal.
