My lifetime passion for astronomy took me to Tucson, Arizona where I completed my BS in applied physics and minor in astronomy at the University of Arizona. During my time there, I worked as an undergraduate student researcher for EHT, helping the effort to produce the first image of a black hole. I am a certified telescope operator at the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT). As a physicist and astronomer I work both as an engineer and researcher. I build Computer Aided Design (CAD) models of telescope components and optical system models. I had the pleasure of presenting my research at the National Science Foundation (NSF). This summer, I attended the Banneker Institute at Harvard University to conduct cosmic microwave background (CMB) research with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Simultaneously, I worked at Howe Industries, a space-tech company, creating CAD models for NASA's Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) proposals. Upon graduation, I continued my work with EHT as a Junior researcher. During this time I was accepted as an NSBP-Simons Foundation Fellow at the Flatiron Institute where I conducted summer research on CMB map filtering techniques. Following this position, I was offered a post-baccularate position at Princeton University in Dr. Suzanne Staggs cosmology lab, where I worked on TES detector research and development and dilution refrigerator cryogenics. I am currently a student of the prestigious Fisk-Vanderbilt Masters-to-PhD Bridge Program where I am conducting research with Dr. Kelly Bockelman and Dr. Karan Jani, as a LIGO Livingston Fellow. I work with Dr. Gabriella Gonzalez's detector characterization group specializing in noise reduction techniques on the most sensitive gravitational wave detector in the world.
