Kayla Gardner (she/they) is currently a Legal Fellow at the Social Justice Legal Foundation in Los Angeles, California. In July 2024, Kayla will be sitting for the CA Bar Exam. Previously, Kayla graduated from Howard University School of Law, and developed a passion and commitment to justice as a social engineer. Post-grad, Kayla is interested in opportunities to practice law or conduct intensive research based in the areas of environmental justice, constitutional rights, race, class, gender, healthy housing, climate change, sustainability, and human rights.Formerly, Kayla was a Marketing major at the University of Miami Herbert Business School, with minors in Strategic Communications and Africana Studies. After participating in Fall Commencement 2019, she briefly studied abroad in Rome in Spring 2020. Kayla's greatest strengths are her sense of creativity, attention to detail, and innovative thinking. She is a strong leader with effective communication skills and thrives off creating positive interactions with her peers. Kayla is passionate about grassroots work and community based activism, working in her spare time to eradicate systemic barriers for marginalized groups.
