The Global Environmental Democracy Project prepares students to be advocates for global change by exploring the principles of public participation, freedom of information, and access to the judicial system and how those principles play out when confronting international environmental problems.---Assisting in research and editing of the project’s principal work – “The Oregon Forest Trust.” This project detailed a collaborative process for local organizations and communities to utilize their natural resources to enhance carbon sequestration and combat climate change. Partnership with a local ranch in an effort to share their sustainable farming practices with interested stakeholders. Synthesis of coursework in environmental law, natural resources law, administrative law, and property law with the application of this carbon sequestration process to evaluate legal issues, potential partnerships, and legal authority.
