With over five years of experience as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Savannah River Site and a Specimen Processor at Prisma Health, I have developed and demonstrated expertise in various laboratory procedures, equipment, and techniques. I have ensured accuracy, quality, and timeliness of specimen receiving, sorting, testing, and data entry, as well as contributed to multiple research projects on public health topics, such as cancer, environmental health, social determinants of health, and health disparities. For example, I provided laboratory support, data analysis, and literature review for a study on the impact of air pollution on lung cancer risk among rural residents in South Carolina.I am also passionate about improving health outcomes and reducing health inequities in diverse and underserved populations. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health at Capella University, with a focus on community health and advocacy. I have completed a Master of Public Health at Purdue University Global and a Bachelor of Science in Biology at University of South Carolina-Aiken, where I gained a strong foundation in public health theories, principles, and practices. Additionally, I participated in the Community Health Leadership Program at Morehouse School of Medicine, where I learned valuable skills and strategies for leading and mobilizing community groups for positive change. My goal is to apply my knowledge, skills, and experience to advance public health research, policy, and practice.
