Kayla Peterson is native Delawarean and alumnus of George Mason University’s Honors College. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication in May 2018, she aspires to work in the field of education advocating for students who are marginalized on the basis of socioeconomic status and race. Recipient of The Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service and Volunteerism in M.O.T and Mason’s Merit Scholarship, Kayla proves herself dedicated to the community and the pursuit of knowledge. This passion prompted her involvement as a mentor in Student Transition Empowerment Program and the Early Identification Program, as well as, serving her peers as the first Education Chair of Honors College Black Ambition.
