I work with students with mild/moderate needs to co-teach lessons in inclusive general education setting, in addition to facilitating small group structured literacy sessions based on student IEP goals. I also serve as case manager for up to 30 students, and create IEPs for each student. Daily I communicate with parents and teachers regarding the accommodations and modifications needed for my students ot be successful int he 8th grade classroom setting and to reach their yearly IEP academic and social-emotional goals. I also teach an intervention literacy class, where we work on core skills such as writing, vocabulary, fluency, decoding, and comprehension using project-based learning and structured literacy curricula.

Through intention, breath, and intelligent sequencing my intention is for all of my students to feel a sense of rejuvenation and deeper connection to their own spirituality. I teach in a way that inspires thoughtful physical connection to one’s breath and personal intentions. My classes are taught in both Sanskrit and English, with upbeat music, minimal demonstrations, and physical assists and adjustments. At CorePower I design and lead power vinyasa classes designed to turn stress into sweat, strengthen, detoxify, and challenge each student!

I taught students highly impacted with autism in a one on one setting. We worked on social-emtional and classroom goals daily. I also specialized in behavior interventions for students with behavior needs. We worked with therapists and specialists to achieve their yearly IEP goals.

Through experiential and proven techniques, I taught individualized lessons to students with dyslexia or language-based deficiencies. At Learning Pathways, we used only proven strategies to help each students find success and growth in all subject areas. Our sensory-based methods ensured positive results for all students and create lifelong learners!

I this role, I developed science, gardening, and outdoor education curriculum based on NGSS standards for low-income students in San Jose, CA. I taught six courses per day for grades K-5, care for a twelve-bed garden, plan science camp trips, lead social-emotional learning through yoga, and monitor student progress based on data.

As an educator at Rocketship Los Suenos Academy, I sought to guide my students to develop advanced social, emotional, intellectual, and academic skills students through interactive, experiential curricula.

As the Supervisor for the Education Department at Pali, I monitored program alignment with the standards of the Western Association of School and Colleges, create Action Plans for Pali Institute, and analyze all data from student tests and surveys. I created new lessons and improve our current ones to better reach California State and Common Core Standards. Educational research and experimentation is a huge part of creating innovative new lesson and activities for Pali. Our Extension Program is a part of the Education Department. I supervised these lessons and school visits. I also designed and graded all standardized assessments for our science classes, then analyzed and distributed the results. Students took these tests on iPod touches with an online survey, which I updated weekly. At the end of each season, I compiled the student assessment data to create a thorough End of Season Report, twice a year. I ensured that the feedback from this data analysis was utilized to improve our program and better align our classes with the standards. I was also responsible for advising our instructional staff in pedagogy, training new staff in our 35 courses, and performing all other duties as assigned that fall into the administrative role.

Developed and put into action an innovative outdoor curriculum geared to provide a wide variety of students ranging from the middle to high school level with firsthand experience of environmental science, leadership, and local history in a unique outdoor setting. Led survival courses, orienteering, dissections, water freshwater biology, and many more outdoor courses. Acted as both a cabin counselor and instructor for students from California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Implemented and developed challenging, engaging, and effective lessons for eighth-grade social studies students focusing on American history in four Social Science classes per day for six months. Worked collaboratively with other teachers to create effective lessons that met the learning needs and abilities of all students, including an innovative, hands-on curriculum for our special-needs children. • Worked with a culturally and socio-economically diverse group of students from a low-income city in Delaware. Created student-centered units and implemented a variety of projects and activities for each. Helped underachieving students improve their grades through enhanced curriculum, specialized graphic organizers, and tutoring. Collected meaningful data to chart growth in my classes.
