Artemis Tutoring is a tutoring agency and educational consultancy firm focused on providing parents, schools and students with educational support in institutions across the UK and abroad. Artemis Tutoring provides schools with support and consultancy in a number of key areas, such as marking and assessment, educational research, motivation and research-informed practice. Schools include Eton College and St. Paul's Girls School, amongst others. We also represent qualified teachers and tutors with experience in the school environment, whose primary aim is to help students achieve academic success.

Master of English: Key responsibilities- Full teaching responsibilities for divisions in F-block (Year 9), E-block (Year 10), C-block (Year 12) and B-block (Year 13), including the planning and delivery of lessons; marking and providing feedback and preparing boys for internal and external exams.- Boarding school duties in 'Timbralls', including the coordination of the F-block Michaelmas term variety performance.- Helped to lead various co-curricular provisions, including Master in Charge of Clay-pigeon Shooting, the Literary Society and generally contributing to wider school life.Researcher-in-Residence: Key responsibilities - Working closely with staff to ensure the effective delivery of research training and providing guidance and support on action research.- Contributing to the development of CPD materials for use inside and outside the school.- Writing a weekly blog on evidence-informed practice for the research centre’s website; writing a termly outward-facing newsletter and editing the annual journal.- Contributing to and leading events organised by the research centre.

Bedford School is an HMC independent boarding school for boys located in the county town of Bedford in England. Founded in 1552, it is the oldest of four independent schools in Bedford run by the Harpur Trust.Teaching all year groups from Year 9-Year 13; including IGCSE English Language and Literature and IB English Language and Literature. Tutor for a vertical tutor group in one of the day houses.Research Lead responsibilites:• to research areas of school strategic interest as directed by the Director of T&L and Head Master• to identify and recommend current worldwide centres of excellence for such areas of school life• to make contacts and bring best practice back to Bedford School• to present findings to CMT and Governors where appropriate• to work as a team player, harnessing the experience of others in the school• to act as an adviser and support, where needed, to other staff members who need support with their own research.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities included:- Overseeing the successful and smooth delivery residential courses for international students. - Leading a full on-course team, so that courses are high quality, exciting and rewarding both academically and socially.- Ensuring that the delivery of both the academic and non-academic elements of the course, encompassing student discipline, welfare, co-ordination and administration are of the highest standard.- Having ultimate responsibility for looking after student groups and liaising with all stakeholders; including- students, parents, chaperones, agents, head office.

The London Schools Excellence Fund was launched by Boris Johnson in 2013. CTK has been working in partnership with Eton College, North London Collegiate, St Paul’s Boys School and Wellington College. With Google helping the project to develop a number of virtual networks for teachers. The two-year project has been investigating the strategies that independent schools utilise to ensure their pupils achieve top exam grades and secure places for their students at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. The aim of the project is to understand whether these strategies are transferable to the state sector and whether than can they be scaled up to be made available to a wider community across London.Having been paired with Eton College, I have worked closely with their English department: undertaking lesson research, teaching at Eton and hosting exchange days at CTK. The data collected from these teaching exchanges has been analysed and fed back into the project- the final report is due to be published September 2015.

Company information: in South London, offering AS and A-level, GCSE and BTEC courses to 16-19 year olds.Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:- Coordinating and teaching AS and A2 AQAB and Edexcel English Literature, AQAB and OCR English Language and Literature and AQA IGCSE English Language courses.- Ensuring that there are clear and effective curriculum and student monitoring systems in operation across the English department.- To be responsible for examination and coursework entries in English, and to liaise with the exams officer and exam boards when required.- Tutor for the Advanced Graduate Programme tutor group, a tutor group of students who have achieved a high point average at GCSE and are expected to progress on to Oxbridge or Russell Group universities. Teaching English grammar, idiomatic expressions and the use of language, to Embassy summer school students. This role also entailed:- The ability to correctly model and drill vocabulary and structures with an emphasis on achieving accurate pronunciation and intonation.- Utilising a wide variety of engaging, student-centred teaching methodology- A focus on student errors and the ability to correct appropriately, in particular, in regards to interference and fossilised mistakes.- The ability to adapt teaching to language learners of all levels and nationalities.

Teacher of English and Year 8 Form Tutor (NQT)- Teaching a full NQT timetable including KS3, KS4 and KS5 English Literature. General teaching duties included report writing, attending parents’ consultation evenings and marking Controlled Assessments; this is in addition to attending training sessions and completing assignments. - I taught a high number of EAL students and students with SEN; and so had to ensure that my lessons are accessible to all students.- I was also a form tutor to a Year 8 form group.

Teacher of English (GTP)- Sharnbrook is an Upper School and so the cohort is from Years 9-13.- I was enrolled on the Graduate Teacher Programme and as such, had to take on similar responsibilities to a newly-qualified teacher: teaching a full trainee timetable, report writing, attending parents’ consultation evenings and marking Controlled Assessments; this was in addition to attending training sessions and completing assignments for my GTP.- I predominantly taught KS4 and KS5 Literature at Sharnbrook.
