As a highly motivated professional with a passion for social justice and community empowerment, I bring a diverse range of experiences and skills to make a meaningful impact. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I majored in Global Studies, I have developed a deep understanding of the impact of oppressive structures and a commitment to creating positive change.During my time at the university, I had the privilege of participating as an undergraduate research assistant for the Southern Legacies Descendants project, a research initiative analyzing the impact of racial terror in North Carolina. Collaborating with a cohort of fellow students, I engaged in archival and field-based research, unpacking the complex dynamics of systemic racism and its effects on marginalized communities. This experience equipped me with a critical lens and a deep commitment to social justice issues. Furthermore, I gained invaluable insights into the importance of historical context in understanding the challenges faced by communities today. Beyond my academic endeavors, I have dedicated myself to grassroots efforts in rural communities. Working at Partners In Community, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Eastern North Carolina, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative power of community-led initiatives. In this role, I actively engaged with members of underserved communities, empowering them through education and collaborative problem-solving. By employing creative and flexible strategies, I supported the development of the organization and identified key strategies for partnerships and growth.I possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing me to effectively convey ideas and build bridges between individuals and organizations. I speak four languages including, French, Japanese, Spanish, and English. My ideal path would allow me to strengthen these skills as I connect Southern grassroots strategies with open global competency.
