Foundation Stage Lead Teacher
Lead Teacher of EYFS Responsibilities: Work with the Head Teacher, senior staff and Governors to oversee the running of EYFS.Contribute to the work of middle managers by working together to implement change and developments across the school.Liaise with local nurseries and pre-schools to ensure a smooth transition for the children and their parents entering school.Oversee the work of designated staff including any support staff and voluntary helpers.Ensure that teaching staff share planning and materials, sharing good practice at all times and offering opportunities for joint observations with constructive feedback.Ensure that the classrooms are safe and that the atmosphere around the area and its immediate environment is conducive to learning.Ensure that any displays will stimulate pupils’ interest and promote the school ethos.Chair and minute EYFS meetings every six weeks, providing feedback to senior management.Contribute to INSET opportunities ensuring all training needs of EYFS staff are met.Organise and provide after school activities and day excursions.Keep up to date with legislation, frameworks and schemes of work for EYFS.Consistent support for and liaison with parents and other external agencies.Oversee tracking systems which fit into school wide systems such as Target Tracker.Tackle underachievement in students, thinking of ways to enhance their provision at school and home with a reference to Pupil Premium funding if necessary.Monitor the teaching profile within EYFS and provide support and mentor as necessary.
