Phoenix Cinema is an independent business and registered arts, cinema and digital culture charity. Phoenix promotes local and independent films as well as big blockbusters and international films, with regular organised events and festivals. My role was to set up meeting rooms and help set up for events, complete daily and weekly tasks such as fire safety checks and bank runs, and admit customers to the cinema. I obtained insights into how a medium business and charity is run, how to work under time pressure with set deadlines and how to handle difficult customers by being tact and diplomatic.On top of these duties, I am part of the Environmental Action Group in order to make Phoenix a more environmentally friendly place.
