Inpatient and acute care occupational therapy student for Mary Free Bed at Munson

Building Men for Life (BMFL) is devoted to serving the men in West Michigan who are struggling with substance use. Through this role as an intern at BMFL, I was responsible for utilizing motivational interviewing skills and environmental modification suggestions to support the men in their substance use recovery.

Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, I supported the academic and non-academic outcomes, including social skills, math, reading and writing in order to help students fulfill their roles as students.
