    When social media was first created, it became a competition between my friends and me to gain as many followers as possible. I accumulated thousands of Twitter and Instagram followers in a matter of days. This continued to grow and expand to other platforms as they emerged. It quickly became evident that I had a knack for creating engaging content and curating a following. As an influencer, I have learnt: It takes time and effort to build a following. You can't expect to become an influencer overnight. Creating high-quality content, engaging with your audience, and building relationships with other influencers takes time and effort.Authenticity is key. People can spot a fake from a mile away, so be yourself and let your personality shine through in your content.Consistency is important. Post new content regularly to keep your audience engaged.You need to be strategic about your social media marketing. This includes using relevant hashtags, targeting your content to the right audience, and paying close attention to analytics.It's essential to collaborate with other influencers. This is a great way to cross-promote your content and reach a new audience.You need to be professional. This means meeting deadlines, communicating clearly with brands, and delivering on your commitments.It's essential to have a niche. This will help you attract a targeted audience and create content relevant to their interests.You need to be creative and innovative. The social media landscape constantly changes, so you must adapt and stay ahead of the curve.You need to be thick-skinned. Not everyone is going to like your content or support you.
