My work includes: - designing, implementing, and evaluating overdose surveillance in ESSENCE. - overdose monitoring and alerting. - analysis of opioid overdose cases and clusters. - enhancing overdose data quality. - notifying local health departments and reporting hospital facilities when ESSENCE alert values are exceeding baseline.- co-coordinating the Overdose Rapid Response program.

My role included: - analyzing morbidity and mortality data involving drug overdoses - primary overdose prevention- work with county level community groups, promoting the use of naloxone, and promoting safe prescribing.

Projects involved working with lead and healthy homes program, conducting, carbon monoxide poisoning investigation, and adjusting the Indiana fish consumption advisory.

MPH program with a concentration in epidemiology.

Responsibilities included acting as an advisor for student organization Volunteer ETSU, organizing campus blood drives with American Red Cross, Blood Assurance, and Marsh Regional Blood Center, coordinating monthly Service Saturday events, hosting the Oxfam Hunger Banquet, Salvation Army Angel Tree, and acting as a liaison between East Tennessee State University and nonprofit organizations in the Tri-Cities region.

I was responsible for running and organizing our training program for our new student callers. Before training sessions I was responsible for contacting trainees to give notice for the time of their training session. During the training sessions I presented information on policies and procedures, the parts of a call, and SmartCall and Orbital systems. In addition, I gave the final evaluation of the employee and hiring decision at the end of the week.
