As a media event assistant my responsibilities include assisting the headlining DJ with equipment set-up and event break-down, using a DSLR Nikon camera to capture event footage and action shots of the guests and DJ, and operating the photobooth and photo printer for guests during events.

Through this internship, I gained experience capturing photography at different events and learned additional insight about another sector of the non-profit industry, specifically community outreach and event production. Not only did I expand my digital portfolio, but I also expanded my knowledge of some of the behind-the-scenes aspects that play into.

During my time with Make-A-Wish Ireland, I was able to hone my professional and creative writing skills as I wrote marketing copy for different audiences including newsletter subscribers, social media followers, loyal donors, and those signed up for their direct mail list. Aside from copywriting and e-mail marketing, I also gained experience with video.

As the social media marketing and public relations intern, I developed compelling posts and reels for the Instagram and Facebook accounts of two exclusive venues The JDK Group partners with. I wrote a balance of promotional, detailed, informative, and fun captions to appeal to the target audience of each account. I also designed a series of branded.

Winthrop Team FTK was a student organization in which members came together to take a stand against childhood cancer by organizing and participating in fundraising events that benefit Four Diamonds. I worked closely with Winthrop’s office of student engagement and Four Diamonds’ Associate Director of Community and Corporate Engagement to establish the club.
