Founder And President Of Winthrop Team Ftk
Winthrop Team FTK was a student organization in which members came together to take a stand against childhood cancer by organizing and participating in fundraising events that benefit Four Diamonds. I worked closely with Winthrop’s office of student engagement and Four Diamonds’ Associate Director of Community and Corporate Engagement to establish the club and make it an official student organization on Winthrop’s campus. Our goal was to raise money and awareness of pediatric cancer and donate every cent toward Four Diamonds and their mission to fund research to find a cure. As the organization's president my responsibilities included but were not limited to:1. Planning and executing meetings and fundraisers2. Contacting businesses to arrange off-campus profit-share nights 3. Working with Four Diamonds’ team to set up our online fundraising page and event registration sites4. Communicating with members via email and text about meetings, events, officer elections, etc. 5. Helping members create their own personal fundraising websites6. Creating promotional marketing material and posting content on the club’s social accounts7. Working with other officers to track club income, retain members, transition new leaders, plan, etc. Since the club started fundraising in the fall semester of 2021, we have collectively raised over $12,000
Event Staff
As an official event staff member for the JDK Group, I mainly worked weddings. I served appetizers and then the various courses the bride and groom selected for dinner and dessert. This required me to be familiar with the menu as well as historic, interesting facts about each venue in case it came up in conversation with the guests. I would also help prepare the dining table arrangements and other decor items for the venue.
