My career path in top-ranking healthcare organizations and has included progressive increasing leadership roles in medical and administrative positions. These positions have involved patient care, education, research, program building and managed care and in these roles engendered team engagement through a combination of clear articulation of the vision and the business foresight led to higher organizational levels.Significant accomplishments under my leadership have included building population health-based, coordinated care program locally and nationally, improving patient safety, and developed highly productive long-term collaborative relationships and successful inter-organizational cross-functional partnerships.Highlights of my career include achievements in my role as Vice Chair for System Integration and Population Health during which I led the business development of 2 successful population-health based coordinated care programs and facilitated the clinical implementation of these programs across the health system both of which have now been replicated in other academic institutions. In addition as Chief Medical Officer for the largest Medicaid Managed Care Organization in the state of Maryland and part of the Johns Hopkins Health Care organization I was instrumental in developing an effective clinical strategy to enhance the operational efficiency and network optimization of the organization. In addition I successfully led the strategic development and implementation of the “Value Based Purchasing” gap closure initiative for the organization to improve the state-wide rating of the organization into the top tier of all Managed Care Organizations in the state of Maryland.
