I have had the great good fortune of working for the last 23 years in a field that I love - the geospatial industry in the NSW State government. I am highly competent with a range of geospatial software packages and technologies, notably ArcGIS (Server, ArcSDE, Desktop, ArcIMS), Oracle Spatial and Oracle ORDBMS, ERDAS Apollo Suite/Image Web Server, and Safe FME. I have worked through many installations and upgrades of the ArcGIS server side software, from ArcGIS 8.3 through 9.3, 9.3.1, 10.0, 10.1, 10.2.2. I am experienced in the application life cycle and the management of software components through the upgrade and change control process.I am a teamplayer, able to build strong relationships with team, clients and vendors. I have excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills, specialising in complex problem resolution in the interfaces between database, application server and desktop software components. I am dedicated to client support and the achievement of client and organisational objectives, currently supporting a range of clients in a service centred organisation.

Computer Mapping OfficerDepartment Of Land And Water Conservation, Nsw May 1994 - Jul 2002Sydney, AustraliaI worked as a Computer Mapping Officer on the establishment of the Crown Land Information Database (CLID). The CLID Project was established to convert the administration of Crown land (which comprises approximately 50% of NSW) from paper based manual procedures to computerised workflow procedures. This was successfully achieved. CLID consisted of a an intranet based Oracle Forms application, and the Spatial Administration System (SAS) which was a GeniusII/Genamap 7.2 interface. All textual data was held centrally in an Oracle RDBMS, with spatial data decentralised and synchronised via nightly updates. The SAS interface integrated the local spatial data and remote textual data.During CLID development, a 4 year spatial data capture program operated at DITM (now LPI Bathurst) to capture the extent of the Crown Estate in a series of thematic layers. My duties included the following:• ongoing development work on the SAS interface according to user requirements and Project priorities, utilising Genamap scripting, Unix shell scripting, Genius II. • liaison with Genasys regarding bugs found in the Genamap GIS software during both SAS development work and spatial data delivery from the DITM (now LPI Bathurst). Application of software patches or development of work-around code.• development of data management batch processes, and data extraction routines.• development, testing and operation of a process to derive a breakdown of areas of Crown land under selected administrative types by local government area, from spatial/textual data, for the first Statewide valuation of Crown land.• technical support and training for the 400+ SAS users both locally in Bridge Street and remotely in 22 District Office locations. • development of data capture protocols and procedures for the spatial capture of over 40,000 Crown licenses. This included procedures for the data compilation by Lands Officers in District Offices, and protocols for data capture at DITM.
