  Project Management- This includes overseeing projects for software development, hardware installations, network upgrades, cloud computing and virtualization rollouts, business analytics and data management projects and implementing IT services. I have also been the Technology Lead for Urban Shield. Hosted by the Alameda County Sherriff's Office, Urban Shield is the largest urban full scale readiness exercise in the United States. Police, fire, hazmat, EMS and EOD teams from all over the nation train in multiple scenarios over a continuous 50-hour exercise. IT is responsible for integrating technology from vendors. Some items are in production and prototypes. Budget Creation- The sole creator of anything technology budget related. Interfacing with technology manufacturers and resellers during the budget creation and the approved budget release. Constantly interacting with department heads for current and future needs.I write the justifications and compile budget numbers, which are inserted into the MOE. This is then forwarded to the department finance team and sent to county finance for approval.IT Procurement - After the approved budget has been released, I react by interfacing with technology manufacturers and resellers to begin the decision process, which includes cost and quality of service. Vetting manufacturers and resellers is a large portion of my position. Staff Supervision - I mentor and monitor the staff in my region. I am also the third tier during troubleshooting. I need to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all of the technology and workflow at the department. Law Enforcement and Detentions and Corrections is a 24/7 environment. Downtime and data loss is not acceptable.
