Welcome! I’m a professional-level educational therapist with the Association of Educational Therapists (AET) and Founder of South Bay Educational Therapy, located in Torrance, CA. I come to you as a credentialed educational specialist, structured literacy dyslexia interventionist, and hold a Master’s degree from the Azusa Pacific Graduate School of Special Education. In addition, I’ve received extensive post-graduate training in several prominent literacy programs, including Orton Gillingham and the Wilson Reading System. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and prior to my career in education, I was an assistant basketball coach and head strength and conditioning coach for the men’s basketball team at APU. This experience has been supplementary to interventions as I lend my expertise in nutrition and exercise physiology to provide a holistic approach and foster the development of self-confident individuals who feel positively about themselves. In pursuing my passion to serve individuals with special needs, I spent over a decade working in the classroom as a special education teacher, eventually leaving to further my journey as an educational therapist, full-time. I now utilize a wealth of experience and continued collaboration with many established allied professionals to offer a wide range of services with a specialty in: • Reading interventions with early readers who are struggling to process the distinctive sounds of language as well as older readers who need to develop their foundational reading skills and advance in the upper levels of the language system; and• Evidence-based, yet individualized, interventions for those who are challenged with emotional, social and developmental factors that present executive functioning challenges.
