Dr. Blair has extensive experience in the development of innovative solutions to challenging technical problems in academic, start-up, small-medium enterprise, and large corporate cultures. He has proven skills in business development, strategic planning, program management, product development, team building, and engineering design and analysis. In academia, he has over ten years experience in developing and delivering innovative, hands-on educational programs in engineering, product development process, and innovation process. A recognized expert in innovation and technology development, Dr. Blair has spoken at the Lemelson Foundation, the Boston Museum of Science, IDEAS Boston, and The International Congress on Technological and Social Innovation in Sport (Spain); The University of London, Loughborough University, The Institute of Mechanical Engineers, and The Royal Academy of Engineering in the UK; and the MIT Center for Innovation and Product Development, as well as engineering schools in a number of US universities. Dr. Blair has served as a technical advisor for the United States Olympic Committee, and as a member of the Golf Digest Academic Advisory Panel. Dr. Blair’s work enjoys extensive media coverage, including print features in Forbes, The Boston Globe, Outside Magazine, and GQ, and video programs by CNN, The Discovery Channel, NPR, and Boston area television stations.His professional affiliations include leadership roles in the International Sports Engineering Association, and non-resident academic appointments at Purdue University in the USA and Loughborough University in the UK.
