Director, Founder Litebill (Formerly Lumin)

As the Program Director at Delta Institute, I oversee Delta's Program initiatives and staff. In 2017 I founded Litebill (fomerly Lumin), a software service for energy utilities that helps low and moderate income customers take control of their energy bills. Find more at https://litebill.io.My business sense and entrepreneurial spirit has developed through 2 decades of experience in sustainability to conceive, test, develop and scale products and services, often in areas where value propositions are not obvious. I build teams and develop talent to take advantage of emerging technology, solving problems and focusing on how to improve the experience for users and customers. I continue to grow partnerships and bring clients along to scale the impact of energy and sustainability initiatives, making every project an opportunity to expand the breadth and depth of the impact. My passion is finding new, innovative, and often technology-based projects that make permanent market change and enable my colleagues, partners and clients to be leaders in sustainability innovation. Current clients and partners include the Merchandise Mart, Field Museum, Office Depot, Prudential Plaza, East Bank Club, Cook County, IDEO, the Illinois Science & Energy Innovation Foundation, EnergyFoundry, City of Chicago, Environmental Defense Fund, and many others. In my free time, I develop software tools for encouraging behavior-science based environmental change, including two software products, RecycleTracker (MIT) and eNudge (GPLv3). I play several musical instruments, make my own electric guitars, and enjoy continuing to research how to make humans live in harmony with the natural world when when I'm not enjoying it myself.
