Promoted into a leadership role across three departments, I expanded more formally into strategic planning, partnership development, impact study oversight, and fundraising. After one year of consulting, I was selected by the Senior Vice President of Standards and Assessment and the CEO/President to join staff as Director of Standards. Increased responsibilities included:– Overseeing all aspects of standards revision and adoption– Leading standards committee members in research alignment study and assessment alignment study– Ensuring construct validity of revised assessment items– Leading content staff in early phase development of e-learning platform (ATLAS)– Writing proposals (strategy, activity planning, budget, research)– Collaborating across all departments in organization to disseminate standards– Serving as lead staff NBCT on revision of the National Board Certification process and assessments

In 2010 I was selected to serve on and co-chair the National Board English Language Arts Standards Committee. After observing my facilitation, the Senior Vice President of Standards and Assessment hired me to facilitate the Science Standards Committee.– Managed governance process including approval of committee and final adoption of the standards– Oversaw public application period that yielded 500 applications– Facilitated 9-month process during which a co-chair led committee authored--by 100% consensus--the standards (http://boardcertifiedteachers.org/sites/default/files/EAYA-SCIENCE.pdf)– Oversaw public comment period and analysis of the survey responses– Created coalition of stakeholder organizations

- Taught high school English at Woodbridge Senior High School, Battlefield High School, and for the Virtual High School. - Served as a team leader and mentor teacher- Coached the Lincoln-Douglas debate team at both WSHS and BHS and held leadership positions in the Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensics League
