Lead Cleantech Open to deliver on its mission to find, fund, and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today's most urgent energy, environmental, and economic challenges. Cleantech Open is the oldest and largest business accelerator in the cleantech sector, with programs and competitions run in six regions in the USA and foreign countries. Over 120 startups per year and 1,900 companies total have run through its programs in the US since 2005. I manage the national organization (full P&L), responsible for major fundraising, partnerships, curriculum, systems and operations, with a handful of paid staff and over 1,000 volunteers nationwide. The buck stops with me. We work with over 600 investors, VC's, corporates and ecosystem partners to help CTO's alumni entrepreneurs get to the next steps in their business journey.In 2020, we reorganized from holding 100+ in-person events per year, to operating and executing programs 100% virtually, and the Accelerator thrived. We are evolving to a hybrid model in 2023, as our major events, National Academies and Global Forum resume in-person.

Working directly with the CEO and Board, I led the angel fundraising process, stepped in operationally to do Strategic Business Development in 2011, and then as acting VP Marketing in 2012 assembling the permanent team. Grew the subscriber base to several hundred thousand and launched a freemium, paid revenue model, in addition to an innovative ad-supported, free model. Acquired by Intermedia in 2017.

Brought in by the founders and original investors to raise additional funding and grow the company from 3 to 15 people. Responsible for corporate strategy, marketing, finance and daily management. Nami was an Internet advertising technology company in the Affiliate Marketing (CPA) and Sponsored Search (PPC) space. The technology platform was particularly well-suited to filtering and preventing click-fraud in high volumes of traffic, as well as scoring and pricing traffic. Nami was acquired by LIN Media, at which point all original investors exited at a profit.

From a standing start, I managed all aspects of this division from P&L, product development, large account sales, strategic business development, and I built it to a $multi-million revenue run-rate.

Founded a pioneering e-learning agency in Copenhagen, Denmark, to commercialize multimedia and computer-based training technologies. Managing Director from 1994-2000, Board Director 1994-2005. Focused on product development, large account relationships, corporate finance and building a great team of 30+. Company was profitable through the dot-com bust and was named to Deloitte Touche's European Fast 500 in December 2003. Acquired by ASSIMA PLC.

Created US subsidiary to develop, market and sell a B2B web-based training service for office ergonomics. Raised VC funding, formed an office and hired a team from a standing start. Led all marketing, product development and large account sales initiatives to clients such as Boeing Satellite Systems and the US Federal Occupational Health Service. This was SaaS before the term was invented.

Responsible for developing e-banking systems for commercial clients and managing a technical support and integration services team. Provided pre- and post-sales support to large bank clients. This was the Cash Management division in Unibank A/S (before merger with Nordea).

Created and led a software project to create PolyMail, a multi-system e-mail program running on the DOS computer platform. PolyData was a pioneer of software development in Denmark, and this was a great opportunity to lead a project through design and implementation and deep-level programming, using Borland Turbo Pascal (developed by PolyData). My first experience working professionally in another language in a completely different culture.
