• Developed computational and experimental methods to produce optically controlled enzymes. Used these methods to engineer photo-controllable yeast cytosine deaminase as a chemotherapy aid.
• Engineered split-protease-based fusion protein constructs for implementation in synthetic biological circuits. Used these components to build tunable, stimulus-responsive AND- and OR- gates.
• Developed and benchmarked a computational protocol for the design of nested-domain proteins. Deposited code into the worldwide distribution of the Rosetta macromolecular modeling suite following all coding conventions.
• Participated in a community-wide benchmarking assessment of decoy discrimination by combining the current Rosetta and Amber energy functions, which outperformed the talaris2014 Rosetta energy function alone on many.
