I'm a senior software engineer with over 16 years of experience working in startup environment, and have built and maintained numerous web applications.Knowing why things work or should work in a certain way and the "why" behind requirements is very important for me -- I'm not all that interested in "here's the button, implement it" type of projects. I'm genuinely interested in implementing feature or project in a way that it actually does something useful and solves users' problem, and for that having as much context as possible is a key to success.Being naturally lazy I dread boring tasks. When I end up with one, I usually try to understand why those need to exist in the first place, and get rid of the need for that task in the first place. If it ends up being so that task indeed is important and needed, I usually automate it in some way, so I can focus on something that is interesting.As an all-rounder & full-stack person, I'm more interested in using code & software to achieve something rather than in a particular framework or programming language.Some of the projects I was doing during the last 5 years include:-- setting up infrastructure (bare metal servers, Kubernetes clusters on AWS, cloud infrastructure management)-- database management tasks ("you can run on any database as long as it's PostgreSQL")-- designing and implementing APIs and backends (mostly Node.js and Python)-- designing and implementing frontends (Vanilla JS, React, Vuejs)-- styling buttons, calendar widgets and everything in between (with css, scss, with whichever UI framework is popular at the time)
