Assumed management of this hotel, on it’s coming out of receivership, for new owners, Singapore's largest private developer Far East Organization, with a new target NOI securing the continued management contract guaranteed by my then brand superiors at 6 times the previous best achieved GOP.Without any infusion of new capital for what was seen as a poorly positioned hotel, with although initially one third of its rooms in poor condition from past water damage, the guaranteed previously unobtainable profit target was achieved in each of my 3 years tenure, with strong new community support as well as international industry support & recognition. This included an international HSMAI award for our innovative hotel marketing and advertising efforts for "Singapore's other hotel". Having achieved what Head Office thought very unlikely, I became noted as the turnaround specialist which always risks ending up with the dirtiest jobs others fight to decline. It did however teach me that something is not always impossible, but just harder if you are willing to persevere, and build up and rely on your own team and resources and not expect the solution from a Head Office even wary of the promise they had themselves made.
