Known for my breadth of knowledge across a diverse range of topics, a desire to help others, and a background in education, I collaborate with others to create and present easy-to-understand, actionable advice and answers to stakeholder questions. With a computer science degree and background in teaching math and physics, I am looking for a new challenge where I can use my degree’s technical and higher-order skills more regularly while still engaging my experience with summarizing and dynamically presenting complex information to stakeholders. I have found the most valuable kinds of analyses are holistic, multifaceted, and suggest further questions; my liberal arts background and time teaching in an international school have given me lots of experience with those kinds of presentations. My proudest accomplishment to date has been independently spearheading the events relating to the 2017 solar eclipse at my school. I researched and contacted vendors to obtain solar glasses, binoculars, and large boxes to make pinhole-viewers, and brought in a local amateur astronomer and their solar telescope. I did this months in advance knowing that supplies would run out as the eclipse got closer, and when my admin eventually asked me only a few weeks before the eclipse if we had any school activities planned for it I already had my supplies and schedule laid out.For several years I was also responsible for grading and analyzing the math placement tests for new students, as well as creating summaries of external standardized testing data for my department. I then presented my findings to colleagues, department chairs, and admin for purposes of curriculum planning on different scales ranging from individual teacher emphasis on different subtopics within their discipline to wider school curriculum planning goals and topic sequencing. My greatest passion is learning new things, and I am constantly reading about the latest developments in a wide range of scientific fields and casually taking free online learning courses. I also enjoy programming small nick-nacks, working on creative “world-building” projects, and participating in local park cleanups.I am most eager for opportunities to apply my interdisciplinary knowledge to help others more efficiently or comprehensively complete their tasks and share my experience to create a robust community of problem-solvers.
