About Kayla B.
I've been interested in creating things ever since I was a kid. I learned to crochet, knit, sew, and even spin yarn on a spinning wheel. I painted and wrote short stories. I learned the violin, mandolin, piano, and guitar. Whenever I came across a new avenue to flex my creative muscles, I set out to learn how to do it. When I decided to learn programming, I realized it encompassed not just my love of creating but also my love of continuous learning. In 2016 I completed an intensive, six month developer boot camp offered by Nashville Software School. During my time there I fell in love with the process of collaboratively building with fellow developers. I discovered a career that constantly pushes me to learn, to think, and to be involved with my local community. I don't just love writing code - I love helping others learn to code as well. My bootcamp experience changed my life and I'm passionate about using my role as a bootcamp instructor to pass along that opportunity to others.Outside of coding and teaching I can be found drawing, playing bluegrass, or leading Dungeons and Dragon's campaigns with my friends.
